Of course, you can also unsubscribe at any point, by using the link at the end of any issue of the e-zine, should you wish - no questions asked. Until I'll have the time to write my e-books from these courses, you can enjoy our past lessons for free, as follows: Grammar ~ Conditional Sentences QuizWe are closing the series of lessons on 'If clauses' or conditional sentences, by trying your hand at Conditional 0, 1, 2, and 3 Mixed quiz I prepared for you today. Please find this exercise on the
Conditional Grammar Quiz
page. I am sure you will find this as easy as pine and I shall welcome your submissions once you had a chance to complete it.
Writing ~ The Narrative ImageAs part of our new angle on the use of image in writing, today we have a couple of examples of the second basic type of image a writer can use - the narrative image. Please find this on the The Narrative Image page. We shall continue to look into the details of various other types of images a writer can use, depending on his/her style and chosen genre. English for Travelling ~ IntroductionHey, my friends, let's start a New Year together! I shall take the wave of the Chinese New Year by exploring events we can participate in during the event in London's West End until our next issue. I've been thinking of this project for quite a while and the time has come when I can put this idea into practise. The idea is to open a platform for all of us to celebrate our cultures by sharing some key points occasionally and practise our English in the process, hopefully also making some friends on the way. Many of you expressed an interest in using your English for travelling purposes when you joined My English Club. This new part of our weekly e-zine will hopefully facilitate some dialogues on cultural matters and we'll probably even be able to organise some excursions to various worldwide destinations, in the idea of hearing about each other’s countries and lifestyles. Since I’m in London at the moment, I shall invite those who can, to take part in some activities scheduled for the Chinese New Year in Soho – Chinatown in the heart of London. I shall bring you some digital postcards from the first day of the festivities in this section of our next issue. On the official
Chinatown London
website you can catch up with the latest news, view their gallery, where you can actually share your pictures; watch their collection of past videos and get directions to the best eating out places in the West End.
Enjoy!
This is it for now, my friends!I hope you find this information useful and not too confusing. Even though you're at the stage of building on it, have patience at this point in your learning and you'll be able to reap the fruit of your work later on, whichever aspect of our lessons you are concentrating on. Please feel free to comment and suggest your ideas by replying to this email - I look forward to hearing from you. If you wish to chat either with me or with other members worldwide, go to My English Club . All the best from me until next time, 新年快乐 = HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
